My work explores expressionistic, intuitive abstraction and is infused with a sense of place and time, the environment and my place within it. A love of colour, texture and mark making is evident in my work and often explores the spaces that lie somewhere between emotion and what i see.
The blog aims to bring posts and videos about an artist's lifestyle in country Tasmania having moved to acreage, a mix of pasture and native bush with a creek (Clayton's Rivulet) running through all the blocks. I hope to capture the excitement, discovery, trials and tribulations of living with wallabies that eat everything you plant, the diverse birdlife, wildlife such as the platypus in the creek and the resident tiger snake. We moved here with #Snowcone, a dairy cow now in retirement and cats that needed an outdoor area fenced in. (that took 10 months).
My studio and arts practice will come into the posts and videos as i learn how to present the information. I work across media such as painting, collage, assemblage, slow stitching, artist book making and short form poetry.
Thank you for subscribing and i hope you enjoy this journey along with us.
