Artist Statement :

The Hem of the Sky

She is more
than she senses
finding her place, counting
the promises
in a sky that gives up its blue

There is no falling
only a gentle breeze, goodwill
and a winter sun


Connections sometimes come with great clarity and interpretation, or sometimes we struggle to figure it out and some just slip away.

This artwork, draws on beach walks, a meandering through, a connecting to both physical and psychological spaces, where time disappears and the exhilaration of embracing all that the landscape offers. I am interested in finding moments of abstraction, connecting to place and though we can never tell our complete story in a single moment, I wish to harness how it feels to be in the landscape where the sea meets the hem of the sky.
