STRAIGHT INTO WINTER

AND WELCOME TO ALL OUR NEW SUBSCRIBERS -

After a pretty warm season Autumn arrived on its last day. And day 1 of Winter she arrived with a vengance. Such morning frosts every morning since and such freezing nights. Freezing being the operative word - all water bowls are frozen right through the day and i am breaking up the top of the fish tank which is totally frozen over each morning. a walk into the frosty morning here.

Speaking of artist books i completed a few over the last few months - small sneak peek below - i shall be uploading the full images of the books once they are clear of future exhibitions. ALSO in relation to books, the lovely ladies who attended my earlier collage workshop have requested i run a contemporary book making workshop - so stay tuned if you are interested. WINTER WARMERS - 2 yummy Hungarian recipes (of my mum's) on the website. As i cook each recipe, i have written down when i was in my early 20s, i will add more to the page. There is also a personal recipe of Nantuckett Cranberry Pie sent to me from my good friends in the USA - we have met in real time a few years ago and still communicate. Wonderful comfort food for winter. Let me know if you try any.

During the last 2 years since we moved here i am steeped in exploring our environment - wonderful tracts of a mix of wattles and gum trees, forest, flat paddocks and a creek. In an effort to delve past the broad expanse which is so BIG i have gone to my collections of found flora, leaves, branches etc and began the #pocketfinds. It seems i have been doing this kind of collecting, recording, photographing for many years but recently found the perfect name for it. This came about after learning of Tara Axford's ways of working which aligns with my own way. A few here taken the last few days. click on image to enlarge.

Well, as you can tell, i did not keep up my 'past 7 days' post idea - i realised after the 3rd one that it may be too many incoming into your email - i know i get annoyed when too many come at me from the ones i am subscribed to.
