I Followed A Worm for a day - artist book
My practice is steeped in serendipity and experimentation. This series came about by chance when my brand new studio (of 3 months) flooded with sludge from the creek on our property. A once in a-7-year event, I am told.
Whilst drinking a cup of tea and processing the initial disappointment I began to see what was actually happening - worm pathways, patterns, reflections, prints from my cat and a turbo chook and the play of light. A glimpse into the story of the creek, a way to be still, briefly.
Printed on 250gsm this little book stretches out to 900cm and comes in its own handmade box and a canvas wraparound cloth that is mono-printed by the mud (and a footprint).
A history as flow of time, imbued now with myth, poetry and personal memories.
A real gift from the creek and a flooding.
And then came the cleanup.
